VAPO has made the process easier with this handy how-to beginner guide all about the different vapes and nicotine e liquids.
What are the different style of vapes, and what do they mean?
In the world of vaping you will come across a range of new terminology, vaping styles, devices and flavours. With so much noise, it's easy to get confused when starting out. Choosing the right vape will make the switch from cigarettes an easy process.
The best Vape Starter Kits for Beginners
As the name suggests an e-cigarette is a vaping device that emulates the mouth to lung draw (MTL), feel and taste of a cigarette. They come in a varying range of sizes shapes with either disposable pods, or a complete disposable unit. These units are normally stealth and are the perfect option if you're looking to make the switch from cigarettes.
Like their E-cigarette cousins vape pens emulate the MTL draw of a cigarette, they are compact enough to easily fit into a hand, but are large enough to include a separate tank and battery unit. Vape pens give users the option of being able to refill the tank with Nicotine e-liquid resulting in an endless range of flavours and nicotine strengths that can be used, however, the tanks will either need to be replaced or rebuilt with new coils every so often to keep the device serviced.
Intermediate Vape Styles
There are a range of differences between starter vapes, and more intermediate vape kits. Intermediate type of vapes have a much larger battery, resulting in higher wattage, better battery life and much, much bigger vape clouds than starter kits.
Box mods or regulated mods are semi customisable vapes that include a bigger battery, rebuildable, or replaceable tanks that are either a mouth to lung clearomiser, or direct lung sub-ohm tank. They have variable wattage or temperature control and include replaceable vape batteries.
Advanced Vape Kits
Advanced vape kits include a fully rebuildable experience, each device can be fine tuned to deliver the exact experience that the user requires, batteries can be changed to increase wattage delivery and the tanks are interchangeable.
There is a range of different styles of advanced vapes from regulated box mods, mechanical mods and squonk mods the depth of information and customisation is vast therefore its advisable that you have an in depth knowledge of vapes before attempting to use one of these devices. E-liquid, E-juice, vape liquid or whatever terminology you call it, it's referring to the same thing, a combustible liquid that release a vapour when heated. E-liquid can come in a range of different flavours and nicotine levels. The composition of e-liquid is a mixture of water, food grade flavourings, a range of nicotine levels starting from zero, and propylene glycol (PG) or vegetable glycerin (VG).
What Nicotine Level to use.
Choosing what nicotine level to use in your vape really depends on how many cigarettes you were smoking per day. We have made and easy to follow guide below that will give you an idea of where to start based off what your cigarette intake used to be.
0 cigarettes per day - 0mg of nicotine
5-10 cigarettes per day - 6mg nicotine
10-20 cigarettes per day - 12mg nicotine
20+ cigarettes per day - 18mg nicotine
Choosing the strength of your nicotine really will depend on your individual needs, heavy smokers normally will choose higher concentrations, whereas casual smokers will choose a lower nicotine level. At VAPO we recommend that you initially choose a few different strengths to find out what will work for you.
